The farm is nestled within the beautiful Waterberg mountains of the Limpopo Province.
The BergAlleen PinZ²yl stud is ideally suited for the mountainous terrain. Bennie and Cecilia established the stud in 2016 with twenty pregnant heifers. Careful selection and breeding has resulted in animals adopted to thrive on the veld, being hardy and resistant to the many tickborne diseases endemic to the area.
BergAlleen Boerdery prides itself on its ethical animal husbandry practices. In doing so, it subscribes to the argument that the major ethical principles for evaluating the manner in which animals are cared for and treated in animal husbandry are the concepts of animal welfare, and the principle of care, the latter being the core principle of the ethical aspect. As all animals are expected to keep condition on the veld, the Stud is proudly free range and grass fed.
